Agriturismo La Topaia, in the 14th Century villa of the same name located 3 km from Borgo San Lorenzo and hardly 25 km north of Florence, is an excellent base for fascinating visits to the main art towns and cities in Tuscany and beyond, while the surrounding countryside provides fine opportunities for all sorts of outdoor sports, leisure facilities and nature trails, making La Topaia an excellent choice for a regenerating holiday in the famed harmony of the Tuscan countryside.

Shopping addicts will be equally spoilt for choice between the nearby Barberino fashion outlet and a number of old-fashioned 'botteghe' offering traditional crafts and local produce.

Villa La Topaia, which is celebrated for having provided the backdrop to the tempestuous love story between novelist Sibilla Aleramo and poet Dino Campana in 1916, rises on top of a gentle hill overlooking a small valley where cultivated fields and extensive woods alternate gracefully.

Our location in the green heart of the Mugello valley at the foot of the Tuscan Apennines offers fine views on a charming corner of Tuscan countryside, marked on the right by the historic Romanesque church of San Giovanni Maggiore and on the left by the stately Villa di Corte and centennial park of the Frescobaldi Marquis.

Guest accommodation is provided throughout the year in the buildings adjoining the villa in two comfortable and tastefully renovated flats (sleeping up to 9 guests in all). Inside the Villa La Topaia, after a recent attentive restoration, there are now 6 comfortable double rooms with bathroom, a suite with queen size bed, bathroom and small closet kitchenette, and a suite with a double room, a single room, bathroom and small closet kitchenette for a total of 8 rooms in the villa.

Altogether we can therefore welcome up to 26 guests.

During the summer, our guests can enjoy and relax by the outdoor swimming pool.

The working farm occupies 36 hectares of land, mostly planted with cereals and vineyards. Our guests are welcome to taste and purchase our home grown produce.

Daniela and Michele will be delighted to give you their hearty Tuscan welcome and do their utmost to make your visit a relaxing and rewarding experience, as well as tempt you to indulge in a feast of wholesome Tuscan cooking and tasty local Mugello recipes.

Our farmhouse also offers outside guests, up to 30 and upon reservation, the possibility to dine at the villa for both lunch or dinner and taste Tuscan cooking and local recipes from our Mugello valley.
